*STRINGING

The Performance Team offers a wide selection of state-of-the-art premium strings suited to every level and style of play.  We will work with you to find the perfect string, be it natural gut or synthetic.  In addition, we will file the technical specifications of your racquet in our database, recording the weight, balance, swing weight, and flex of the frame, along with the tension, your string selection, and a reading of string-bed deflection to track the natural loss of the strings resiliency and energy.

Pick-up/delivery is available for your convenience.

*RACQUET WORK

Through the use of sophisticated diagnostic equipment, the Performance Team can adapt a racquet to your most personal needs.  This service benefits the player suffering from pain or injury, as well as the elite player looking for a competitive edge.

Its a fact: most recreational players are using a racquet that is too light. This can contribute to arm and wrist pain due to the lack of mass involved in contact with the ball. This creates shock, which, in turn creates pain. A slightly heavier frame cushions the impact created at contact by its relative mass. We can also make your racquet more maneuverable and even help you to achieve greater racquet head speed for more spin on your groundstrokes.

We can alter the weight, balance, and swing weight of a racquet, as well as grip size and shape.  Even the same model of racquet can vary frame to frame, but the Performance Team can match your frames, giving you the consistent Performance you should expect.

*ON-COURT CONSULTATION

As experienced tennis teaching professionals, the Performance Team can offer an unparalleled service: on-court assessment of your equipment needs and technical evaluation of your mechanics and technique as they pertain to your racquet.  You will work with 1 or 2 members of our team.

On-court consultation takes place at the North Shore Tennis and Racquets Club in Bayside, New York.  Arrangements can also be made for private home courts (rates are variable).

*DEMO PROGRAM

Performance Stringing and Racquet Concepts offers a complete line of demo frames for your convenience.  There is a $20 membership fee and unlimited trials for up to 3 days at a charge of $5 per day.  Daily demo fees go towards your racquet purchase.  To serve your needs best, PSRC will customize any demo to your specifications.  Prices reflect our standard stringing and racquet work services, in addition to the re-stringing of the demo and related labor (estimates upon request). As with all our services, pick-up and delivery is offered.

*EQUIPMENT and TECHNIQUES:

Its our job to deliver world class craftsmanship and accuracy. To that end, the Performance Team’s Mark Zimmermann has created a proprietary 2-piece, variable tension technique, used on all racquets. Years in development, this technique offers the most consistent string-bed stiffness, while ensuring the structural integrity of your frame (a top-down one piece method is utilized upon request). In addition, we pre-stretch all core-less, multifilament strings, reducing natural tension loss and creating a firmer, more dynamic string-bed.

We believe, as many professional players do, that hybrid stringing is the best way to enhance your racquets playability. Different players have different demands. The hard hitting tournament competitor may need a combination of durability and control, while the club player may be more interested in a hybrid that is easier on the arm and provides more power. We can accomplish these goals with various combinations of string diameters, synthetics (nylon or polyester) and/or natural gut.

In addition, the Performance Team works with the tennis industry’s most advanced and exacting equipment.

The Babolat Star 5 stringing machine is used to ensure the consistent accuracy of tension and consistency of craftsmanship the discerning player should expect.

The Star 5 features include:

·         Electronic, linear traction constant pull

·         Tungsten carbide-coated, titanium oxide-dusted clamps

·         6-post, 10-point mounting system

·         Digital tension accuracy within 0.1 kg/0.22 lbs

The Performance Team uses the Babolat Racquet Diagnostics Center computer for all custom racquet work.  This state-of-the-art digital machine measures flex, dynamic inertia (swing weight), balance, weight, and string bed deflection, which we record in our database for future reference.
